Teaching/Education Background
Leelanau Club PGA Professional Matt Morrison is a 2002 graduate of the Ferris State University PGA Golf Management Program. He was elected to PGA Membership in May 2003. While teaching at The Leelanau Club, he has given over 250 private lessons to golfers of all ages and abilities.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy revolves around having a correct and comfortable preswing setup that matches the students body type and limitations. While most swing flaws can be directly related to a problem in the golfers preswing fundamentals, my teaching approach focuses on buliding the proper preswing setup including a correct grip, stance, posture, alignment, and ball position. It is important to make sure each student understands these critical setup fundamentals before moving on to the in-swing movements of the golf swing.
