Layout Philosophy
The
Leelanau Club at Bahle Farms is destined to become a
golf course people will want to play again and again.
Small greens, tree-lined fairways, and strategically
placed bunkers will put a premium on shot making rather
than brute strength. Yet, there are a few holes, like
#13, a 440 yard par 4, which will require distance as
well as direction.
Together
with the Bahle family, who offer a strong heritage and
concern for the land in Leelanau County, turf specialist
Steve White, architect Gary Pulsipher, and PGA pro Chuck
Olson have created a golf course sure to please the
most discriminating golfer.
The
design makes insightful use of the tremendous natural
variety of the land. Players will negotiate a myriad
of terrain types including ridges, ravines, gullies,
orchards, and highland meadows.
Gary
Pulsipher said," There's no doubt that this is
a dramatic golf course. People will really enjoy it."
